Well, you can't win them all, but lately it was starting to feel that way. Every time the Mets scored some runs, Oliver Perez allowed even more of them to the Rockies. The Rockies teed off on Perez for 12 hits and 2 walks in little over 3 innings of work. The bullpen came in and did an excellent job of holding the Rockies offense in check. The relievers limited the Rockies to only 1 run and 3 hits over the final five innings. Unfortunately, it was too little too late.

Still, will celebrate good effort from the team and hope that young Oliver Perez spends the remainder of the season working on his command in Norfolk. So pass around the bottles of Summer Solstice Cerveza Crema from the Anderson Valley Brewing Company of Boonville, CA.

Crappy game, fine beer.

One thing that puzzled me when I had this beer with dinner the other night, why does the bear on the label have antlers like a deer?


Another thing that puzzles me is why does the bottle in the above image look bright orange? Neither the beer or it's actual bottle looks anything like that. More great mysteries to ponder over a beer this weekend.

I'm not quite that dedicated. I've drank quite a few of them at some point in time. If I come across an unusual beer at a restaurant, then I will likely get it into one of the polls. At some point in time, I would estimate that I've probably drank 30 -40 of the multitude of beers have been featured in the polls.

Interesting enough, I'm pretty sure that I never had a Schaeffer beer.
