Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted August 28, 2006 Posted August 28, 2006 It takes more than rain to cool off the red hot Mets. Today they picked up where they had left off and pummeled the Phillies to gain the eighth win of this nine game homestand. The Mets weren't very good hosts to the Phillies newly acquired starter, Jamie Moyer, as they hammered him for nine hits and seven runs over six innings of work. Meanwhile, Mets starter John Maine was far sharper. Maine surrendered only two runs on five hits over six and a third innings of work. The bullpen held the held the Phillies in check the rest of the way, other than a solo home run by Ryan Howard. It seems that he hits one out practically every game. Today we feature the official beer of the Wisconsin Woodchucks. Direct from the Stevens Point Brewery of Stevens Point, Wisconsin we celebrate with their Point Special Lager. A special beer for a special team. So enjoy a pint or maybe two.
Guest ScarletKnight41 Guests Posted August 28, 2006 Posted August 28, 2006 Tough call. I went for the Maine Event. But I could have gone for Delgado pretty easily.
Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted September 2, 2006 Posted September 2, 2006 By the lack of votes, I assume people weren't all that impressed with the teams effort in this game. Please share the beer.
Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted September 3, 2006 Posted September 3, 2006 I'm apparently wasting my time, but I'll beg for votes one last time.
Guest cooby Guests Posted September 3, 2006 Posted September 3, 2006 Good thing you bumped this one; I had missed it.
