Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted August 3, 2006 Posted August 3, 2006 A little late getting this one in, but I opted for bed last night over posting the POTG poll. Better late, than never I guess. The Mets jumped out to a very quick 6-0 lead, then held on for the victory as Florida kept pecking away at their lead. The Mets had 12 hits, all singles, in the game. Luckily, they squeezed 8 of those hits and 2 walks into the first three innings. After that, the hits were hard to come by. The pitching did just enough to hold off the Marlins hopes for a comeback victory.David Wright's mini slump continued as he went 0-5 and stranded a staggering 10 Mets teammates on the bases. He is in the midst of a 4-22 slump with only one RBI in his last seven games. He's going to break out of his slump soon and I wouldn't want to be the opposing pitcher when he does. After this win it seems only right they we drink some Flying Fish Pale Ale.

Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted August 3, 2006 Posted August 3, 2006 I slacked off and chose a restful night of sleep over posting the POTG Poll lastnight. I feel so ashamed, yet remarkably rested.
Elster88 Old-Timey Member Posted August 3, 2006 Posted August 3, 2006 I don't know how you got to sleep under those circumstances.
Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted August 3, 2006 Posted August 3, 2006 Sometimes, not being able to actually watch a Mets games can be a blessing. That game was one such occasion.
