Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted May 10, 2006 Posted May 10, 2006 The Mets opened a big can of whoop ass this evening and put a major beat down on the red hot Phillies. On a night when the Mets collected 17 hits and every member of the starting line up had at least on,e this game was a laugher practically from the outset. Not that the Mets offense needed any help, but the Phillies played like magna cum laude graduates of the Helen Keller School of defense. The Phillies spent much of the early innings handling the baseball like it was a live hand grenade. None of the Phillies displayed much desire to actually catch the ball and once they had, they seemingly couldn't wait to get rid of it. Glavine cruised to an easy victory and did his share to contribute to the offensive onslaught. The team so soundly pummeled the Phillies, that it was diffficult just to decide who to nominate for POTG consideration. After kicking the crap out of the Phillies it seems only right to take their beer too. So tonight, in tribute to a great team effort, a few six packs of Victory Lager for everyone on the roster. If your choice for POTG isn't nominated, then cast your vote by posting their name in bold letters
