Guest Johnny Dickshot Guests Posted April 27, 2006 Posted April 27, 2006 Was it mentioned anywhere we signed Tucker to a minor league deal? Looks like a (somewhat shaky) backup plan to Valentin in that he's a veteran LH-hitting guy with multiposition capability who whiffs alot but has doubles power.

Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted April 27, 2006 Posted April 27, 2006 We need some batsmanship at Norfolk. It's been crazy. Michel Abreu just went 2-4 in his St. Lucie debut. I guess he's on the fast track to AAA, but there's not a lot of guys playing like big leaguers down there.Six homers?
Guest Bret Sabermetric Guests Posted April 27, 2006 Posted April 27, 2006 Does Norfolk have so little in the OF that a brief callup was OOTFQ when Diaz got hurt? I know they don't want to call Milledge up too soon (though I think it's the perfect move under the circumstances--IOW, couldn't disagree more here) but didn't they have a third outfielder down there who could back up Chavez for a day or two?
Guest Hillbilly Guests Posted April 27, 2006 Posted April 27, 2006 Apparently they wont bring up Milledge if Beltran is put on the DL up to avoid putting LM on the 40 man roster and exposing other player for what would be a short term solution. Michael Tucker is one of the streakiest hitters Ive every seen. Goes on incredible tears, but then is cold as ice.
Guest Johnny Dickshot Guests Posted April 27, 2006 Posted April 27, 2006 Tucker would join the fraternity of former Wilmington Blue Rock Mets, which includes Glendon Rusch, Carlos Beltran, Raul Gonzalez, Shane Halter, Mike Fyhie, Orber Moreno and Jose Santiago.
