Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted March 30, 2006 Posted March 30, 2006 http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/story?page=lukas/060330A lot of things happening this season, including after much debate, the Brewers bringing the controversial ball-in-glove logo-insignia as a Sunday special.I'm assuming the ladies there are perhaps Brewer spouses, and therefore future Met spouses. I'll save the image if anybody can identify them.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted March 30, 2006 Posted March 30, 2006 Landmark sleeve patches:Fine:Okay:Kind of overdoing it:Dumb:Know what 45 years is? Not 50.
Guest Yancy Street Gang Guests Posted March 30, 2006 Posted March 30, 2006 It's nice that the Brewers are listening to the fans regarding the vintage logo.I wish the Mets would listen to us about the blue caps and the pinstriped home uniforms. As for the Astros patch, very strange. It might make more sense to celebrate 45 years if the team still had its original name, though.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted March 30, 2006 Posted March 30, 2006 And check out this photo from the Mets minor-league camp.As far as I'm concerned, Juan Samuel has already earned his salary.
Guest Johnny Dickshot Guests Posted March 30, 2006 Posted March 30, 2006 Are the Braves paying the Mets royalties for ripping off their sleeve patch?
Guest ABG Guests Posted March 30, 2006 Posted March 30, 2006 Didn't a guy post here a while back desperately pushing a movement to bring back the Brewers' ball-in-glove insignia? And the Brewers' wifeys would all be welcome as future Met wifeys.

He expected to find a bunch of tradition-happy fans who would rush to his aid and instead found out that most of the gang here hated the old logo and had no intention of lifting a finger to help him. Poor boy was amotionally crushed.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted March 30, 2006 Posted March 30, 2006 I liked it well enough. I didn't love it. But it was distinctive style from a time that uniforms of different teams were more distinct from one another. An it's a far cry better than the Miller Beer-in-stealth logo of latter times.
Guest Yancy Street Gang Guests Posted March 30, 2006 Posted March 30, 2006 I liked it too, and I'm glad it's back. At least, as glad as I can be about anything having to do with the Milwaukee Brewers, about whom I'm as indifferent as I can be.
