D-Dad and I watched this one tonight on On Demand. Terrence Howard turned in a fine performance, but there is no way that he beats out Philip Seymour Hoffman for the Best Actor Oscar.

Parts of the film are interesting, but for the most part it's Purple Rain without the personality. Or the good music.

I really enjoyed this movie. It's not terribly fresh in my mind, as I saw it a while ago, but Terrence Howard was phenomenal and I personally found the story really engaging. The ending was too pat for me, but that's Hollywood for you . . .
