Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted December 29, 2005 Posted December 29, 2005 I was looking at the Vaughn-Appier swapout. Big Mo came to the Mets with $46,500,000 owed to him. Kevin Appier went to Anaheim with $21,000,000 due him, for a net of $25.5 million taken on by the Mets. (Whoah.)Then the question occurred to me. Who blew the most money in the 2001-2002 off-season, the Rangers or the Mets?Keeping in mind that not all money spent is truly "blown" --- I'm looking at it as (Money Taken on in Salary Commitments During That Offseason) minus(Salary Commitments Shed in Players Dealt During That Offseason) - minus(Salary Commitments Toward Players Acquired in that Offseason Later Shed in Subsequent Deals [Like Park])
