A friend of mine recently visited Japan, and he noticed this vending machine. He's not a baseball fan, but he knows I love the Mets so he took this photo for me -




I wonder whether Mets has a special meaning in Japanese?

In Japanese, "Mets" means "ones who play meaningful games in the early portion of September."
