Guest Bret Sabermetric Guests Posted September 3, 2005 Posted September 3, 2005 This run is what cemented Ed's rapport with Met fans, historicallyUp until this point, he was a heavy-legged, surly, phlameout of a phenom who was a million dollars of promise and ten cents of delivery. After this point, he was Saint Ed.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted September 3, 2005 Posted September 3, 2005 Only 1 'ROE' and 0 'XI' for the entire time? ... Jeez he suxx!!!!
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted September 3, 2005 Posted September 3, 2005 Eddie was such that it took a clear and obnoxious error for him to reach on one. Or maybe the combination of a bad stop by the shortstop, a bad transfer to his throwing arm, a bad throw in the dirt, and bad pick by the first baseman would do it.
Guest Bret Sabermetric Guests Posted September 3, 2005 Posted September 3, 2005 Per 572 ABs, a full season's worth, Ed scores only 76 runs (doubtless because he was pinchrun for a lot), drives in 164, and hits 20 HRs.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted September 3, 2005 Posted September 3, 2005 Ah, so ROE is 'Reached on Error'.And XI, I'm guessing, is hits in eXtra Innings? My original post was my way of saying I had no fuckin idea what either of those columns meant.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted September 3, 2005 Posted September 3, 2005 "XI" is for reaching base on an interference call.
