Guest ScarletKnight41 Guests Posted September 4, 2005 Posted September 4, 2005 Valadius - the protocol is that we don't bring up this thread unless we're actually celebrating.
Guest mlbaseballtalk Guests Posted September 4, 2005 Posted September 4, 2005 ="Valadius"]*hides in a corner*SEE WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU TEST FATES Jeter leads off with a homer. Damn where have I heard THAT before...6-2 MFY in the 6thShort story, recently I saw a guy at Shea with a 2 Yankee Road Uniform with some WS trimmings (can't remeber what year, wasn't 2000 though) and I said "Thats real damn gutsy wearing that guy's jersey in this ballpark!" Especially anytime after Game 3 leading off against Bobby Jones...[WWE announcer Jim Ross mode on]DAMN THAT JETER, DAMN HIM STRAIGHT TO HELL[/WWE announcer Jim Ross mode off]
Guest Frayed Knot Guests Posted September 4, 2005 Posted September 4, 2005 Yeah, you'd think the matchup between Zito & Chacon would favor the A's but Zito really laid an egg tonight (got our less than half the batters he faced) as Chacon joins Aaron Small in the race for NYY "ace".Lesson: Don't fuck with the BBGs, they can be nasty SOBs
Guest ABG Guests Posted September 4, 2005 Posted September 4, 2005 The Yankees winning or losing has little to nothing to do with my happiness level after I read the OOTS.

Guest ScarletKnight41 Guests Posted September 11, 2005 Posted September 11, 2005 You as well. No bumping of this thread without actual Triple Happiness in hand!
Guest mlbaseballtalk Guests Posted September 11, 2005 Posted September 11, 2005 True, I'm just trying to undo the bad karma
Guest ScarletKnight41 Guests Posted September 18, 2005 Posted September 18, 2005 I ran the Dynamets Dash three times as fast today in honor of Triple Happiness!
Guest Benjamin Grimm Guests Posted September 25, 2005 Posted September 25, 2005 Yes, I know the Braves won yesterday, but my definition of Triple Happiness, especially at this time of year, is when the Mets and Red Sox win, and the Yankees lose.
Guest MFS62 Guests Posted September 25, 2005 Posted September 25, 2005 Yancy,A while ago I posted that I though that Triple Happiness was as you just described it (Mets and Sox win, Yanks lose). I was quickly informed that it didn't include a Sox loss, and included a Braves loss. So, the rules change based on time of the year? Can we make up our own rules? Can I play by your rules? Can I play by your rules, but only during certain times of the year? This is so confusing.I wish I were an elitist prick, so I wouldn't care what everybody thinks about what I think. But I'm not.So I care. And I'm asking.Help!Later
Guest ScarletKnight41 Guests Posted September 25, 2005 Posted September 25, 2005 As happy as Yancy might be, and as much as I like him, this thread really shouldn't be activated unless the Mets win and the Braves and MFYs both lose.
Guest Benjamin Grimm Guests Posted September 25, 2005 Posted September 25, 2005 I'm with you, '62. I remember that I too posted, either at the beginning of this season or last, that a Braves loss no longer brought me particular happiness, and I suggested a triple should involve a Boston win instead of an Atlanta loss.I was in a distinct minority. But this morning I find myself triply happy, so I broke the rules and posted my three smiling reptiles. The way I see it, if you're happy and you know it, clap your hands. Or post a message in this thread.Who can really legislate happiness?
Guest ScarletKnight41 Guests Posted September 25, 2005 Posted September 25, 2005 What if you come up with an alternate thread? Leave the Triple Happiness thread for the established definition, but have a different thread for baseball events that make you happy?
Guest MFS62 Guests Posted September 25, 2005 Posted September 25, 2005 Sorry, Mom.When someone is as happy as Yancy is, he doesn't feel like working that hard. :)Later
Guest ScarletKnight41 Guests Posted September 25, 2005 Posted September 25, 2005 I think Yancy is a big enough boy to speak for himself. And anyone industrious enough to construct an Archive Test Forum should be able to come up with a new thread.
Guest MFS62 Guests Posted September 25, 2005 Posted September 25, 2005 You obviously failed to see the tongue firmly implanted in my cheek.I was funnin' ya'.Later
Guest ScarletKnight41 Guests Posted September 25, 2005 Posted September 25, 2005 No blood, no foul....
