The Mets' ongoing quest to bring aboard high-quality and effective talent continues, as the team has traded for 31-year-old pitcher with no major league experience and just 87 1/3 IP of Triple-A experience Matt Seelinger. Not sure what we gave up yet; if it was more than two broken bats, we gave up too much. His WHIP above 1.400 this year is right up David Stearns' alley. 

As usual, the brain trust continues to acquire nobodies with no meaningful future with the club, instead of fostering and developing the young, homegrown talent we already have. But that talent generally isn't for us, we like to trade that away for veterans who don't perform.
