With our NL East lead down to 0.5 G over Philly (15 W in their last 20) and the Braves now a game over .500 and just 5 G out, the schedule is not currently our friend.

Cuz while the Mets have Boston and LAD on the agenda this week:

- the Phils go to Denver for a four game set starting tonight

- the Braves are in the Nation's Capital starting Tuesday after winning four of five against them last week in Atlanta

Braves @ Nats rained out tonight



Phils leading Colorado 7-3 in the 6th, but I believe the Rockies lost two of three to the Bad News Bears last week so no biggie

(saying that with trepidation before we go to Denver next week)



deGrom threw 7 innings of 2 R, 3 H, 9 K ball in the Bronx so of course the Rangers only scored 3 and then the TEX pen gave up one run in the 7th, the 8th, and the 9th

Yanx win 4 - 3 despite being out-hit 10 - 5

So Luisangel's big brother has returned to that team down south after missing almost exactly a full calendar year after tearing up his knee (for a second time).

Will his return make a difference for the Braves? First pitch he sees in nearly a year = HR

Braves are hosting the slumping Padres who are on a six game losing streak [0-3 vs SEA then 0-3 @ TOR]

Skubal's line: 94 pitches, 2 hits, no walks, 1 HBP, 13 Ks. His final pitch of the game, swinging strike three, registered 102.6 mph

Philly wound up going 2-1 in West Sacramento

Braves dropped two of three at home to previously cold Padres



So, yeah, it would be nice to win the rubber game here tonight.
