Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted March 9, 2025 Posted March 9, 2025 Not quite on par with the Alavrez injury but ... Zimms is having "lingering knee soreness" which is keeping him out of the lineup and keeping his running down to "85% capacity". He's had just two ABs this Spring and also underwent an MRI last week which showed "no structural damage" so he received a "gel injection" this weekend [and is] "still shooting for Opening Day". Mendy expects him to be playing again within a few days.https://nypost.com/2025/03/09/sports/brandon-nimmo-not-quite-ready-to-return-to-mets-lineup/https://nypost.com/2025/03/09/sports/brandon-nimmo-not-quite-ready-to-return-to-mets-lineup/
Cowtipper Old-Timey Member Posted March 10, 2025 Posted March 10, 2025 2023 was a uniquely memorable year, despite it sucking. We'll see. The Mets have a lot of decent depth still. They have a nice bumper crop of prospects. Like, a lot of guys 26 and under who are "supposed to be good." I'm not worried about the offense. Once again, it's the bullpen that scares me. Ryne Stanek is #2 on the bullpen depth chart and Garrett is #3. That's disconcerting. Nimmo being hurt will likely be a blip in the long run.
