Howard Johnson injury question

My memory could be wrong but...I seem to remember going to a day game at Shea back during HoJo's Mets days...I believe that HoJo was playing a position other than 3rd (I believe it was shortstop, but could have been the OF) and he went after a flyball and collided with another player...I believe either HoJo or the other player got hurt on the play (forearm/wrist contusion or worse)...



Anyone remember this? Or is my memory toast?

by the way, I think that the collision was with Dykstra but not sure...

I imagine you're remembering correctly, but it's not ringing a bell with me.



But trying to tap my memory, I suddenly recalled a strange instance of Roger McDowell throwing the ball away trying to pound it into his glove, and completely missing, only being saved from humiliation by a diving stop by HoJo.



And there it was, though it turned out that my memory was off, as HoJo didn't quite dive.

I think that I remember that McDowell to Hojo unintentional toss...I had forgotten about it, but now I seem to remember both McD and Cone doing some bonehead things when they weren't in the process of delivering a pitch
