The only way to fly acquisitionwise post-July 31 is to claim those who are waived. Like, say, lefty pitcher Donnie Hart, formerly of the Brewers.



The Mets have claimed the dude and have assigned him to Rhametown (aka Bashlorburgh).

Given the state of our pen, why not?



I might also consider signing (NOT claiming, due to the price tag) Brad Brach, who has stunk enough this year to just get DFAd but might still be better than a few of our guys and could always regain his form.

Apparently we do have to have Hart, or at least his left arm. He has returned to the active roster.
