Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted May 1, 2019 Posted May 1, 2019 CC=3K on Tuesday night, making him the 17th pitcher with 3,000 Ks and just the third left-hander, although seeing as how the first two LHPs (Randy Johnson, Steve Carlton) both have north of 4,000 that's as far as Sabathia is going to go in what I believe he has already announced will be his final ML season. Even the 82 additional Ks he'd need to catch John Smoltz for 16th place overall will be iffy.Justin Verlander -- 2,759 -- is the next highest active pitcher Yanx lost that game and then again this afternoon to cool off a bit after winning 8 of their previous 10 mostly on a west coast trip.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 1, 2019 Posted May 1, 2019 Verlander's good, but the Mets got Phil Humber with the next pick.SUCK IT, DETROIT!

HahnSolo Old-Timey Member Posted May 4, 2019 Posted May 4, 2019 Stop the presses. For the first time since like 1992 the Twins actually won a game in Yankee Stadium.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted May 4, 2019 Author Posted May 4, 2019 Friday's MFY win vs the Twinkies marked their first (and currently their only) in 2019 against a team with a winning record. The only two winning clubs they'd faced prior to this Minnesota series were Houston (0-3) and the DBacks (0-2) so this in-progress series puts them at 1-6Against sub-.500 clubs so far they're 17-8, to date they've faced: BALT (4-2); DET (1-2); CHW (1-2); BOS (2-0); KCR (3-1); LAA (3-1); SFG (3-0)
