  1. Thanks for the report. Glad you got to go home happy.
  2. A come-from-behind victory in a game the Mets looked out of, and a come-from-ahead loss in a game the Mets looked to have in the bag! How en-/discouragaging!!
  3. Luke Voit, who looks three inches taller than his listed 6'2", rips a one hopper that Nats reserve shortstop Nasim Nuñez stabs and turns into a game-ending double-play. Thank you for being a part of it all!!
  4. Sloppy ball by the Mets as Omar De Los Santos strikes out chasing in the top of the eighth and then loses a ball in the sun for a double in the bottom of the inning.
  5. Nats mascot Screech currently giving the business to a Met fan that may or may not be our friend bmfc.
  6. Jordan Geber, currently projected as the #1 starter for St. Lucie, on in the bottom of the seventh for the RoadMets.
  7. Walkoff homer in St. Lucie!! José Iglesias!!
  8. Damn it! An I've-got-it-you-take-it popup, and the Nats go up by one.
  9. But karma pays us back, as the Nats get one in the fifth and three in the sixth and and tie the Mets up. WE'RE TIED ALL AROUND!!
  10. A line-drive homer by Bader!! A 6–1 deficit at home is now 6–6!!
  11. Marlins get a moral victory as they put three balls in play, but all three are easy outs. Listed as the second-base ump, but actually at second, is Jen Pawol. A few weeks ago she was publicized as the first woman to ump an MLB spring training game since 2007, but is now going unmentioned, which I guess is how it should be.
  12. A Ben Gamel single adds to the scoring against the Nats. The inning ends with 10 Mets having come to the plate and the team up 8-4. Back to St. Lucie for some trumpets.
  13. Back in St. Lucie, Mark Vientos just SmAsHeD a three-run homer to left-center to pull the Mets within one and liven up this crowd in anticipation of The Edwin.
  14. Switching back to Palm Beaches for a moment where the Mets lead 6-4. Wendle makes it 7-4 with his second hit of the game.
  15. Diaz to come on for the next inning as Nimmtastic leads off with a double.
  16. I misheard, and Drew Schmidt is on for the Mets in St. Lucie.
  17. As they trail 5-1 in St. Lucie, Iglesias makes a terrific stop to halt further damage but he can't complete the play, and the Marlins follow with a run-scoring fly. Now 6-1. They go up 3-2 in Palm Beaches on an RBI single by Omar Narváez and an RBI groundout by Zack Shortbread to follow. I think there was a suggestion that Diaz would be pitching next in the home game.
  18. Steve Cohen (noted by Steve Gelbs as not wearing green) met the media before the game and described the organization as "stacked."
  19. Mets tied with the Nats in Palm Beaches, with a homerun by Luke Voit, derided as a windblown routine popup by Nationals announcers, accounting for the lone run. Mets trail the Marlins [CROSSOUT]2-1[/CROSSOUT] 3-1 back home in St. Lucie, with all runs on the record of scheduled Opening Day starter José Quintana. Green-and-white softball caps all around, but standard jersey colors.
  20. Also, Mets pitchers held Astrophage batters to but a single hit.
  21. Six-to-one was indeed your final. And the Mets had FOUR different pitchers go two innings apiece. They totaled 14 strikeouts of Astronomical players!
  22. We're in the ninth! The Mets are up 6-1!!! Three separate relievers have thrown two-inning stints!!!
  23. Tonky finishes the second! We might have one of those multi-inning relievers!
  24. Good reflection on Tonkin Teagan Tinkin. These dinnertime starts don't jibe well with my family life so I'm only able to connect haphazardly. The Mets are up 1-0 on Tyrone Taylor's first Metoid homerun, and Tonkin has just yielded his first hit with one out in the second.
  25. A lovely springtime Saturday evening sends the Mets back (and back and back) to CACTI Park of the Palm Beaches where, if Houston isn't hosting, Washington certainly is. Today it's the former. So today, CACTI stands for Caught-Assed Cheatin' Texas Insufferables, or something. As they pare down their bullpen options, The Mets are perhaps hoping to get a look at a lot of them against the same competition today as reliever Michael Tonkin gets the nod for the start. Similarly, three leading candidates for the utility roles are all starting around the infield, batting consecutively in the order.
