FanDruel is a pretty good name. Nimmo still out of the lineup. And three straight starts for Senger suggests something is up with Luis Torrens as well.

Well, I would encourage reversing field.

It is dangerous thinking. It can only drive you mad.

He somehow parlayed that performance into a pro contract with the Tampa Bay Rays, who are a Major-League organization and everything. But he only made one appearance with the Rays, taking the mound in Rookie Ball, facing four batters, walking two, plunking a third, and giving up a hit to the fourth, yielding three runs without retiring a single batter, and earning his release with the dreaded infinite ERA. But he wasn't done there, as he landed in the Pioneer League, playing for the Billings Mustangs. That's far from Main Street in the professional baseball pecking order, but hey, the cost of living is probably relatively low. But even in his three starts in Billings, he still didn't appear to be fooling anybody, walking 11 in 8 1/3 innings on his way to 10.80 ERA. And somehow, compared to his recent performances, this was an improvement. But once in a blue moon, the guy must somehow throw a magic pitch that makes people think he has something that isn't showing in the numbers, because now he's back in affiliated ball with the Mets, returning to the Florida Complex League. Life is good! Obviously the Mets saw something in him that the outcomes did not produce, and if they can, somebody else likely will, and the Yanks (like the Mets) have been a pretty desperate organization of late. What is kind of surprising us, however, is that he got a Major League deal. The Yanks are down 1-0 the Red Sox tonight, so we're not expecting his debut imminently or anything, but they are on their fourth pitcher in the ninth. Actual conversation in our home: "So did the Mets give away the house yet?" "Well, they appear to have given away a few rooms." "Is it over?" "Not y... OK, there it is. It's over now." "Are you sure?" "The screen says three outs." "But the Braves can still challenge that last out?" "Shit. Yeah, I guess so."

Get hit #5, Baty! Get the potent bottom of the order up!

The Mets should empty their bench. I'm hoping on getting a look at this McNeil guy. Actually, they should put Marte on defense, so they lose the DH and McLean can take some hacks.

Damn, Fedde was hung out to dry. It feels like he has been out there eating it forever.

Eight hits for Taylor, Mullins, and Senger. THAT is baseball.

Six hits for Taylor and Mullins. That is baseball.

Senger back to his rally-killing style. IT AIN'T OVER 'TIL THE POSITION PLAYER IS PITCHING, METS!

What is weirder? Lindor stealing with a 7-2 lead, or the Braves playing in with a 7-2 deficit when he got to third?

And Lindor is playing D with elan, again.

Pour it on!

Baty and Vientos both land a ball behind Michael Harris in the same game!

Baty doubled over Michael Harris' head, which is a hard place to find the grass. Also another kinda conservative Sarbaugh hold might leave the Mets with regret.

Soto maintaining his patience in a big spot is a good thing. Ducks on the pond have tended to make him more aggressive this season. But hey, a hit each from Taylor and Senger in the same inning. We are already working from some long odds.

Hayden Senger suddenly has a lofty OPS over .400. Also, he is starting two days in a row?

I do not think it is not enough good players. I think it is philosophical.

Sprout? Sure. We can try him. AWESOME!!

The odd thing is that their performance is kind of the opposite of 2024. They went from starting poorly and peaking later to starting strong and crashing later.

=ashie62 post_id=201943 time=1755816858 user_id=90] I don't think Stearns fully understands that he is in charge of a big market team. The starting pitching performed over its head for a long stretch and it regressed, and then some

Well, it is kind of beyond the reach of a pinch-hitter now. (Unless he maybe comes up twice.)

Mets get another chance to face a ninth inning with Mullins and the catcher (this time Senger) due up. With Mauricio the only obvious pinch-hitting option.
