  1. Oh now I'm going to cry , what with Kase and the Buckhardt story about Tatis I'm slobbering.
  2. "Hey ....fans , Dad's been working out...."
  3. ="Fman99"]This thread is more depressing than Angela's Ashes. Like Frank the Mets seem to have a dose of the consumption
  4. I think I would like to get a consensus as to what the membership thinks is the # 1 reason for this mess. All the injuries is not what I am looking for Was it Beltran's injury Not signing Dunn Reyes Voodoo Indian shit Maybe I should throw a poll up after this thread has ran a few days. I will say that I remember several here were very vocal on Dunn , can't remember one person on Texeria.....all that means is that I have a rubbish memory. I think it's imperative that the Mets learn from this season going into mext.
  5. I find few things more overrated than " leadership skills" , no more Cora please.
  6. Where did it all go wrong , where did the downhill slide start? It should have been a season to celebrate , beautiful new stadium , some key holes in the lineup filled.....but all we have had is an endless list of players going to the DL. Looking back is easy I suppose , new stadium not celebrating NY Mets history in a proper way was a bad start to the season. I think a chronological list would be helpful for the archives .
  7. 27 , he's only now entering his prime....a steal by Minaya
  8. Two reports on the Mets the last few days have described the Mets as " the cash strapped Mets"......I do start to wonder how bad or not the club finances are.
  9. Imagine if this lot ran the country , it would be in a terrible mess.
  10. ="G-Fafif":1saux1au]Preserved a Glavine gem on Ralph Kiner Night. I didn't like Glavine, I wasn't crazy about Wagner, but I sure do love Ralph Kiner. Billy and Paulie embracing upon clinching of the Mets' first division title in 18 years, as if they were the ones who waited 18 years. Ryan Zimmerman preventing a 9-0 start in '06, though a) you can't prove it would have happened and 8-1 was pretty good.[/quote:1saux1au] I'll say it again, your ability to remember such specifics is amazing. It's only after I read your posts that I remember individual instances like that. I have a foggy memory of him mowing didn the Yankees 1 2 3 but don't ask me when. Farmer Ted Aug 25 2009 02:37 PM I never had a problem with Wagner other than the 2006 NLCS. Spoke his mind and didn't give a fuck about hurting anyone's feelings. I hope he knocks Papelbon's teeth out. Nymr83 Aug 25 2009 02:51 PM i thought this was supposed to be dead in the water and then i see a "memories of" thread. sadly the legacy of wagner to me is him not being there when the bullpen imploded down the stretch in 2008. John Cougar Lunchbucket Aug 25 2009 03:50 PM ="Benjamin Grimm":356z0pnq]I'll probably remember the venom that Johnny Lunchbucket feels for Billy.[/quote:356z0pnq] I don't want to come off as a hater, but my reason for "hating" Wagner was a little bit about how he burned every bridge in Philly and Houston on his way out of those towns; and left their fans heartbroken and betrayed, and how when he came to the Mets he was hailed as the kind of guy who wouldn't do that -- then did. In the end he was crap in the 06 postseason, not a great teammate, and ultimately fragile and unreliable. We'd have done just as well signing Braden Looper for his tenure here. Now watch him go set fire to the Red Sox. Edgy DC Aug 25 2009 05:44 PM 'Bucket, I'm sending you a facebook mail NOW!!!! Ashie62 Aug 25 2009 05:50 PM My memory of Wagner is belowing Pedros 3 run lead against the MFY'S in midsummer in 06 I beleive. I was there and didn't smile til our group got to Virgil's
  11. I'm picking Marcus McBeth of the 40 man roster.
  12. Boston.com It is not expected that any more than one of the two players the Sox are giving up will come from the 40-man roster, and neither is considered an upper-tier prospect 40 Man http://www.mlb.com/team/roster_40man.jsp?c_id=bos
  13. from Boston.com A source told Tony Massarotti that the Red Sox will not pick up Wagner's $8 million option for 2010 but will retain the right to offer Wagner arbitration, meaning they would get two compensatory draft picks.
  14. My abiding memory is the stupidity over his entrance music and the utter stupidity of Mike and the Mad Dog over it.
  15. Boston.com saying two mid-range prospects in our future....
  16. It would not surprise me in the least if the Mets did offer that arbitration that the whole world thinks will be declined only for Wagner to accept it . So my question is....for the Mets to offer arbitration would they do so with knowledge that Wagner would decline?....would they be in cahoots?
  17. Looking at his BR page to see how many innings to has tossed the last several seasons , In 2004 he broke 200 innings with 228 2004 - 228 2005 - 231.2 2006 - 233.2 2007 - 219 2008 - 234.1 2009 - 166.2 When I think of innigs eaters Sabbathis comes to mind , he's broke 200 innings poicthed in a season twice , 2007/08 This is not a comment on anything just looking is all.
  18. Nice work LWFS , I hope you did't injure yourself typing all that.
